Acclimatise

To make an animal grow accustomed to a new climate.

Aptitude test

A test that is necessary in order to be issued with a hunting licence for the first time. The test is administered by the island councils, or by delegated collaborating associations.  It is designed to measure the candidate's knowledge of hunting legislation, firearms and techniques, hunting equipment, animal species and how to distinguish them, hunting ethics and behaviour, and of any other aspects set out in hunting regulations. The island council or the collaborating association issues successful candidates with a certification of their aptitude for being granted a hunting licence. Aptitude test certifications issued by other autonomous regions and equivalent documents issued to foreigners are recognised as valid for obtaining a hunting licence for the Canary Islands.
