Glossary of Hunting Terms I

Island Hunting Board

An advisory body on hunting affairs for the Council of Tenerife, attached to the Regional Hunting Board.  The appointment of board members is determined by a regulatory system.

Island Hunting Plan

The Plan sets out general hunting actions and an organisational model for hunting based on the structure and classification of land on the island and makes provision for special future actions for specific aims. The plan establishes that the island council, as an instrument for hunting planning, shall submit a report based on prior reports from the island councils to the Canary Islands Government's regional ministry for environmental and nature conservation affairs, who shall hear the Regional Hunting Board for the purposes set out therein.

Island Registry of Hunting Offenders

The Registry is dependent on the Island Council, and makes a computer record of offenders who have been penalised by a final judgement, in proceedings initiated by the island councils for offences against regulations stipulated by the law. The Registry shall state the reason for the penalty, the amount of the fine and compensation, if any, as well as the period for which the offender is to be barred from hunting under the terms set out in the island councils' decisions. The Registry shall have thirty days in which to communicate the annotations to the Regional Ministry.
