Arona

Arona

As the island's major tourist destination, Arona receives approximately 3 million visitors each year, more than the entire country of Cuba. The centre for administrative offices and services for the south of the island of Tenerife is Los Cristianos, a town which is also a hub for cultural and recreational activities. The historical town centre has preserved the charm of traditional architecture and the hill areas have retained their age-old customs and festivities, most of which are linked to agriculture, the area's second most important industry. It is the third most populated town in Tenerife, just after Santa Cruz and La Laguna, and the town with the highest annual growth (13%).
