Sensible eating and shopping workshop

Obesity and eating disorders appear to have penetrated into our society, affecting especially our children. In response, the Centre for Consumer Training and Quality Promotion has organised courses on food safety, nutrition, hygiene, food handling and other topics.

  • Writing a balanced shopping list to a budget
  • Correctly interpreting compulsory and optional labels
  • Conducting comparative analyses of functional foods and health and nutrition statements
  • Comparing quantity and price of different brands of the same product
  • Checking shopping dockets
  • Using environmentally-friendly criteria when shopping
  • Identifying and appreciating traditional and rural products from Tenerife (gofios, the papas antiguas variety of potato, honey...)
