About the Canarian Water Centre

The Canarian Water Centre Foundation (FCCA) is an independent not-for-profit organization founded to promote the science and technology of water. It was founded on the 14th of December 1988 by the Central Office for Water of the Government of the Canary Islands, the water boards of the seven islands and a number of private companies with interests in water in the Canary Islands.

Functions

La FCCA implements and promotes its own R&D&I actions as well as running projects in cooperation with public institutions and private companies. It also releases publications and organises events related to the science and knowledge of water.

Objectives

Development of inventions and innovative patents for the water sector, as well as the creation of an internationally-renowned R&D centre in the Canary Islands for the development of and research into new technologies for water treatment systems, especially in the area of desalination.
