The Canary Islands possess some of the most unique landscapes in the world due to factors such as their geographical placement, volcanic origin and climatic and physical characteristics. These factors produce unique flora and fauna and also shapes particular to human settlements. In addition the archipelago boasts the largest number of natural areas classified as protected landscapes within the national territory.
The marked verticality of Tenerife, the highest island with perhaps the greatest contrasts, allows for numerous observation points, viewpoints, that offer magnificent views of this wealth of landscapes. Most of them and the most accessible of them are linked to the roads.
